Update Come said the wind by Glendon Place

Hi peeps

So you guys might know I have been working on "Come said the wind" by Glendon Place. It's a fairly big chart with 10 pages in total. Here is how it looks like originally

Here is how it looked like in my previous post. It was one of my UFO since 2014
I have stitched further along with the vines on the left but I realized I did not like how the colors changed, which was too stripy and busy. Also too many warm colors in one place so I decided to frogged everything out and started all over again. I changed the color of the vines to a cooler green with a hint of brown and here is my progress to date:

I feel much better with the result! What do you guys think?

I hope to finish this by the end of the year, however, as this piece is fairly big and with all the hassle of Christmas season, I'm not 100% positive LOL. Having said that, I'm trying my best to stick to the original plan and no new start until I have 3 finishes. Right now I am jotting down ideas for New Year Resolution. Do you guys have one? I'd love to hear!

Happy stitching everyone!

  1. I love New Year's Resolutions. This year I have picked a word (steadiness) that I feel will help me steer my family's upcoming year after 2015 being a year of major upheaval for my family. For my hobbies, my goals are 15 pages per day in a NYTimes Non-fiction Bestseller every day, 200 stitches every day and 15 pages in another book every day.

  2. I really love the colour change you made. I think the vines are much easier to see and the contrast with the fabric is much more striking. Great choice!
As for New Year's resolutions I love making stitchy plans! I am aiming to make good progress on and finish some of my UFOS next year. As yet I haven't made any definite plans but I like your idea of 3 finishes to every new start!

  3. I think you've made great choices for your colour changes.

At this point I have 1 stitchy resolution - work on WIPs except for my SAL. I HAVE to get those WIPs whittled down.

  4. You definitely made the right choice changing the colour of the vines. What a difference it makes to the whole design and well worth the effort of all that frogging!
As for New Year Resolutions (I like to call mine plans as it feels less restricting) 31 new starts in January, 12 monthly ornaments, up to 6 more new starts throughout the year and... I'm aiming for about 50 finishes! Other than that, just have lots of stitchy fun!
    Good luck with yours! :)

  5. I agree you have definitely made the right choice. I love the green/brown effect on the heart shaped symbol. Good luck finishing it this year. I think it will look so effective. I like poem too, it's lovely. I have some resolutions too. Very similar to yours, no new starts till there are a few finishes under the belt. Let's see how long that lasts. You know what I'm like....hopeless LOL!
