Oh Yay I broke my lazy circle! Update on "Autumn" SAL

Yes! I did it!

If you folks still remember..."Autumn" by Jacek Yerka is my SAL with Pull the other thread. We are supposed to post our update on 15th every month. It started from May 2013. Somehow, for some reason, I dropped out back to August last year...It means I haven't touch this project for 5 months. Too many new starts, too little time! LOL. If you can recall my round up post of last year, I did mention that my goal is to complete whatever I did not accomplish in year 2014 and to finish 2 bottom rows (full page row) is one of it.

Here is my starting point (pic from August 2014)
I managed to finish the page:

I do really hope to keep this one in my monthly rotation, there are only 6 full pages left to complete my goal. I really hate myself if I fail again this year lol

Hope you guys enjoy it. And Pull the other thread, if you read this, pull it out! We need inspiration lol

Till next time! bb

Autumn SAL July post

Hi peeps

It's getting so much hotter here in the state. In this season, people here are crazy about BBQ and camping. I don't. I'd rather stay at home with my air-con on. Or I will be melted. I know I can fry an egg on the road right now with this freaking temperature so why should I fry myself out there! How is the weather at your side?

I also blame the hot weather for my slow progress in stitching. I don't feel like doing anything! Yeah, singing Bruno Mars' Lazy Song!!!

Don't be mad at me if I don't have much progress to show, only half a page done hehe

Na na na na I dont feel like picking up my needles cause today I swear I am not doing anything...Nothing at all whoo whoo LMAO

Have fun! And don't forget to check out Pull the other thread blog for her progress this month!

A pathetic update on Autumn SAL

Hi folks

Yes the title says it all. I am literally hanging in shame. There are only about 2,100 stitches done this month on "Autumn". I hardly can explain why I only stitched it last night T.T.  I think I'm pretty far behind Pull the other thread Lol. I keep being distracted by new starts and there you go a sinful serial starters.

Updates on 'Autumn' SAL May 2014

Howdy folks!

Apologies for lack of updates these days. I was not at my best condition to stitch. I am having terrible toothache which makes me unable to eat and sleep for a week now.  And guess what, all of my 'good friends' keep sending me their eating pictures!!! I am so pissed1 I want to eatttt and stitch. So I made Pumpkin Scone and Japanese Matcha (green tea) Sponge Cake to feed hubby! See how it turns out

They smell so good that I want to tuck in but hell no, my poor teeth might bleed. But I will come back STRONG.

Come back to the main topic :-D. I, anyhow, was able to have almost a page done this month. I want to have a completed page finished but I was not in a right mood. But see this guys, I want to jump in the picture, it really glows, doesn't it???

Leave comments below and tell me what you think! This page is a heavy confetti page so watch out!

And please don't forget to visit Pull the other thread's blog to see her amazing progress this month. I will come back shortly.

Happy stitching!

Update on 'Autumn' SAL

Hi folks

Apologies for late update. I finally found my camera to upload the pics for you!

I spent a good amount of time this month to focus on stitching 'Autumn' because I know how much we want to see the cellar like I said in last post.

BEFORE

PAGE 50 FINISHED

PAGE 49 FINISHED and PAGE 40 PROGRESS

So I have 2.3 pages done for this month report which means I caught up with my original plan. A lot of confetti appears in the area where the cellar locates but it is so worth it.

I hope you all like it and leave some encouragement at the comment so that I can gather my strength to bring you a better update next month!

Last but not least, don't forget to visit Pull the other thread  to see her progress this month!

Enjoy!

'Aumtumn' by Jacek Yerka: The 10th Update

Hi guys

Yes, it's time to talk about SAL again Lol

As I mentioned in the last SAL post, my DMC 938 ran out. I ordered a new batch and realized a terrible mistake, I ordered only 1 skein instead of 10! I reckon that somehow, I mistyped '0'. I don't know to laugh or to cry right now (ー_ー)!!

Having said that, I managed to finish the page I should have done in last month SAL. So here you go:

BEFORE:
 AFTER:

Here is how it looks as a whole, still a long way to go. Apologies for all the wrinkles

I'm half way through my goal for SAL this year i.e to finish 2 bottom rows of this chart. My next 2 pages will be the cellar (in the red square below):

I hope it will be something different from roots and fire. Now I can't wait to see my stitching buddy Pull the other thread with her flying books!!!

Have a lovely day guys!

'Autumn' SAL 9th update

Hi guys

This is the first SAL post of year 2014 and I did really hope I will bring you a greater progress of this piece. However, I regret to tell you that I do not have much done this time (only about half a page done).

I will be completely honest: I am short of DMC 938 and therefore unable to keep stitching. If you have (or you will) a diagram of 'Autumn' in your hands, you might notice that this color is used almost everywhere, as many as 3371. It means, when you ran out of it, you're finished Lol. Well, I can just move on stitching other colors first and come back fill in the blank when my supplies come. But I feel incomplete by doing so, as I want to show you guys a neat image on each post.  Good news is I did ordered the floss last month. Bad news is it will take a long long time to reach me. Why? Because we are buried in snow storm the whole month, like 15 inches deep. I think this is the toughest winter in the last 20 years in America (if you read the news!). So I will completely understand if the postman wants to wait until the snow is melt...which is hell know when.

OK, so back to the main thing, it's picture showtime. This is what I stitched before running out of 938:

I hope you enjoy it and please leave comments below, I'd love to hear from you!

And don't forget to visit Pull the other thread's blog for her update this month, which surely will be a pleasure to see.

Happy stitching!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, HAPPY FINISH, 2013 in Preview and Resolutions for 2014 and Stash Enhancement (Picture heavy)

Hi guys,

I. A finish

You read the title and you demand a picture. Yes, of course. I am so happy to present you my first finish on Love Thy Thread's chart: "Harvest Moon" by Lisa O' Malley.

This is the speediest stitching piece I ever stitched and  I hope I made Bev proud.

'Harvest Moon' by Lisa O' Malley
Designed by Love Thy Thread
Stitching period: November 2013 - January 2014
Tented 2 over 1 on 26 count hard danger
How do you guys think?

On the other note, similar to HAED, Love Thy Thread also offers a loyalty program where you can receive a free chart of equal or lesser value by submitting a finish. I love Sabine Rich sketch painting and I was lucky enough to receive 'Owl' from Bev as a reward. Here it is:

I can't find a copyright mark image so please  excuse me for my bad skill. You can find this pattern available for purchase here

How adorable this owl is! And it requires only 1 color (20 pages in total though)! Ehehe. Should I dig in this one immediately? Yes, cause I really want to!

II. Stitching Summary of 2013 and goal for 2014

I think it's worthwhile to give a brief summary of my stitching in the past year to encourage myself go further this year. So here is my stitching summary and goal that follows.

1. Dandelion Clock Dance by Joanna Bromley (HAED)

Started on November 2012
As of November 2013
My goal is to finish this pattern within the first quarter of 2014

2. Autumn by Jacek Yerka (HAED)

Started on May 15, 2013

As of December 15, 2013
My goal is to finish 2 bottom rows of this pattern this year :D

3. Ryo by Haruyo Morita (HAED)

Started on October 2013

As of October 2013
After finished a page, I did not have chance to touch it again. I feel very guilty leaving it aside as it is a beautiful pattern. My goal this year is to finish the first row of this chart :D

4. Harvest Moon by Love Thy Thread: Started on November 2013, finished by January 2014.

5. Cow Parsley from Cross Stitcher: Started and finished within September 2013

6. Others

As you might know, I also started other HAED patterns but for some reasons, I lost interest in them so they probably out of my stitching rotation this year as well.

III. Stash enhancement

Santa Claus visited me last Christmas and spoiled me:

From Paine Free Craft:
The Scribe by Suzi Dragonlady

From Heaven and Earth Designs:

Dragon Pleasure by Jacek Yerka
Ripples by Stephani-Mun Law
The Owl Maiden by Annie Stegg (new artist)

and last but not least

The Plagiarists by Jonathan Wolstenholme (new artist to HAED)
New stash means New start? I'm not sure yet. Probably no BAP (Big Ass Project) for this year but small and medium project cause I want to have something hang in my house with proud Lol

What is your year in preview and what are your resolutions?

xoxo

SAL 8th post - Last SAL post of year 2013

Hi folks

So it has been 8 months since our first post on SAL 'Autumn' by Jacek Yerka. And this is my 8th post.

8 months gone, wow.

During 8 months of stitching 'Autumn', I realize how grateful I am to have Pull the other thread as my SAL partner, for every amazing stitch that she put and her brilliant companionship. I am also thankful for all the comments that all of you, my fellow stitchers, made to encourage me to continue stitching this (this is a mad one, you know that).

Looking back again at all I have done so far, I feel proud. Having said that, each month I only have more or less than one page done (one page done each month is my minimum goal). I do really wish that I could have done more. I see some people got their HAED done in months or within a year. But others in yearSSS. So I think, well, just forget about the time frame. I have committed to it, I will fight with it Lol

And this is my 8th page done:

I think it comes together nicely and I know you guys want to see more of it. I really cracking my head right now to come up with a neater plan for next year, for how much I can pull it off. I do really want to see the whole picture too.

In summary, 8 pages down, 46 pages to go. With my minimum goal of one page each month now, I assume i will have this finish in 46 months which is 4 years later? NO WAY Lol (eyes popping out) O.o

To see the development of this piece when I first started until now, please click the Tab 'Autumn SAL' at the Top of this page.

To see the progress from my fellow stitcher, Pull the other thread, please click here.

I hope you enjoy and I will come back with my stitching goal for next year as well as some new stash! Yay!

SAL 'Autumn': 7th post!!!

Hi guys

I hope this post finds all of you well.

I had good and bad weeks which caused my stitching bug flied in and out. But I fight to have one more page finished (I wanted to have 2 finished thou but I just can't hold the needle all the time).

I really hope you guys like it. I personally felt a bit disappointed with how the clock in the tree turns out not so clear. But oh well, what can I do to fix it. I just hope that it will look just fine when I admire it from far. Or maybe it's just because I overthink about it. Let's see.

So i have three pics this time, to show how I go on with the confetti madness. Yes, 'madness'. They were taken from different lighting so that you can see the depth of it.

You see the clock at the very top left corner?

The clock looks better from this pic, not sure why.

I think this is the best pic I ever taken Woohooo
Absolutely can't wait to see the flying books from Pull the other thread. I know you are just like me. So make sure we take a good look on her blog!

'Autumn' SAL 6th post: You'll see more roots and fire!

Stitching 'Autumn' is not an easy job. Probably the most complicated piece I've ever put my hands on. But I hope it does pay off. I can see every single root appears with all the lights. I feel like I can nearly touch it. Another page finished and my journey still continues.

And as a matter of fact, I decided to buy a cone of 3371. Best thing I've ever done :D

Hope you guys enjoy and don't forget to visit Pull the other thread blog to see more!

SAL 5th post: Autumn by Jacek Yerka

So I continue my journey with Yerka from last month. Here is the result:

This is where I ended last month

and result of this month.

Do you think it looks more and more interesting? I can't wait!

For a minor thing, I realized that putting it on Qsnap made me stitch so much faster, just because the tension and the focus area was just right. I do not think Millenium frame is bad, just that the fabric is much bigger than the frame I had and it will loose the fabric tension when you fold fabric from both sides.

Please take a look on Pull the other thread 's blog to see the other edge of this piece!

Best,

xoxo

Third post SAL: Autumn by Jacek Yerka

Hi guys

This is the third post on my current SAL with Pull the other thread. Confetti heavy, as expected. You can't mess with Yerka... I feel like drawing his artwork now lol. What amazed me most while stitching this is you won't see what you are stitching until a finish. The page that I managed to finish in this post is page 44 where shows a flame coming from the earth.

Page 44 is finished!
The flame, surprisingly looks quite real to me. It totally worths the effort I gave. My progress on Autumn is rather slow (about 1 page per month) though T.T

Please check  Pull the other thread 's blog to see her progress this month.

Please note that my post next month might be delayed as my family is moving to the state on the same day of expected post. I will try my best to keep this updated.

Thanks for visiting!

SAL 2nd post: Autumn

Oh ladies

Stitching this piece is really making me headache and heartache as well. Firstly, the confetti is all over the place. Secondly, I was so afraid that I won't be able to see or imagine anything from what I stitched. No, not until I finished page 53 and saw a small pale light in front of the cave, lol. Try to use all of my imagination and energy to persuade myself to understand what I am stitching. I do really hope to show you guys more, but well, lets see what I have here:

Finished page 53,54 and 45
Ok, so in this picture, I put aside the image of Yerka's artwork so that you can roughly know where I am now. I think we can see the roots and a small entrance behind it. Just like I say, a pale light in front of the cave lol.  Here is the close up pic of this entrance in natural day light:

I hope that I could show you guys more progress in the next post. Meanwhile, enjoy!

SAL: Autumn by Jacek Yerka 1st Post

Hi guys

Just for your information, this is the SAL that I join with my fellow blogger Pull the other thread. We will post our progress of this pattern on monthly 15th, goal free. I started stitching on page 54 (last page of the pattern and she will start on page 1 (you can find her post here). If you are interested in this SAL, you are most welcome to join us. It will be so fun!

So here is my preparation:

Autumn by Jacek Yerka ( please refer here to the chart)
Stitched on 25ct Dublin
Started date May 15th
1 x 1 FULL CROSS

Progress: Oh well, actually I started stitching this few days ago but I made a huge mistake about the placement so I was mostly frogging. I managed to start over again this morning and here is the result:

From distance

Close up
Basically, I completed page 54 since there was only few blocks to stitch. You might not able to see anything from here yet but good thing will come later. So keep your eyes on this blog for my next post on June 15th.
